We have an amazing team of teachers that will help dancers meet their dancing goals!
Jen Peterman
Jen has taught at the studio for many years. She instructs both competition and recreational teams. She also teaches flag and rifle. She also teaches adult classes. She also spearheads JDD summer dance camps held at the studio in August. She teaches at Miamisburg School and lives in Bellbrook with her husband Ed and 2 daughters Nicole and Michelle.
Kendra Beaverson
Kendra Beaverson graduated from Toledo School for the Arts as a dance major working underneath Alison Reny and Laura Blaufuss. She has trained in classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary. Kendra now is going to school to be a personal and group fitness instructor. She has continued her training in dance by taking classes in Cincinnati and traveling to cities like Chicago. Kendra started teaching when she was 15 years old at Toledo Ballet and moved to Dayton after graduating and continues to teach and choreograph for Dayton Ballet. She inspires to continue her journey as a performer and expand her knowledge as a dance teacher working at JDD Dance Studio.
Emily Hayes
Emily is the newest addition to the amazing teaching staff for the JDD family. She grew up as a competitive dancer and competed for 12 years. Over the years her favorite styles of dance were Tap and Jazz. She has been teaching since 2014 while she herself was still a student. She is also a certified personal trainer and is experienced with 1 on 1 personal training, group classes, and mobility stretch classes. In her free time she loves doing Crossfit every morning, small Crossfit competitions for fun, and tough mudders with friends. She loves anything active and fitness oriented. When she isn't dancing or personal training she works at Elevate Cryotherapy and Wellness Studio where she helps people with recovery. She is super excited to meet all the students and to have a great dance season..
Brianna Hurst
Bri is our newest teacher at JDD Dance. We are so excited to have he here on our team. Bri will work with both Recreation and Competition teams.
Brittany Lohmeyer
We are so excited to have Brittany join our studio! She is everything you could imagine in a baton teacher! She started and is still currently the coach of the Ohio State Team. She is the Baton Ambassador from the US to Peru. She has an amazing gift and we so proud and thankful to have her. Ms Brittany also assistant in classes at the studio.
Kayla Anspach
Kayla (Knechtly) Anspach grew up dancing at JDD from a “Little Mouse on the Loose” in 1999 to a member of the Senior Dynamite Gals through 2013! Through dance she learned teamwork, discipline, and grew a heart for dance. She has experience in elite programs, such as the New York City Rockettes summer intensive program, performing with the Dayton Ballet Senior Company, and danced through college with the Wright State University Dance Team. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Science and currently enjoys teaching Group Fitness classes, including her favorite, Zumba, at the Washington Township Recreation Center. Kayla believes the balance of solid dance technique with the caring, family-like staff at JDD really sets us apart from other studios. She hopes to continue in our studio’s tradition of inspiring dancers to dance with heart and become the best “person” that they can be.
Penny Davidson
Penny is the owner of JDD Dance, continuing a local dance studio legacy started over 50 years ago. Penny is no stranger to the dance studio; she spent almost 20 years as an active dance parent and directs the studio with a high level of integrity and family values. Before taking on JDD ownership, Penny spent 6 years running her cottage business, 25 years as a livestock judge, and President of 2 international organizations, while sitting on both organization boards. "I'm proud to own a studio that protects family values while keeping a competitive edge and taking it to the next level!" Penny is married to Tim, they live locally and they have 5 children and 3 grandchildren!
